Vacca, a 72-year-old retired electrician, rolled his first ABC-sanctioned 300 game in 51 years of bowling, at Surfside lanes in Kenosha, Wis. The perfecto was part of a 697 series. Vacca has a 185 average for Dickie's Tavern in a Sunday league.

KIRKLAND, WASH.
Kathy, a senior at Lake Washington High, swam a girls' national high school record of 1:02.96 in the 100-yard breast-stroke. Her 23.21 in the 50-yard freestyle is tops in the U.S. for a girl in high school competition this season.
SAM (Fox) LOVE
CADIZ, KY.
Sam, a senior at Trigg County High, won his second straight Class A state high school crosscountry title, running the 3.1 miles in Lexington in 16:16. He also won the Class A 800 meters (1:54.47) and 1,600 meters (4:15.85) last year.
BETSY JOHNSON
POND EDDY, N.Y.
Betsy, a 5'8" senior striker at Eldred Central High, scored 61 goals to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 19-0 soccer season and their third sectional title in her four years on the team. She had 167 goals and 31 assists in her varsity career.

Jim, 17, and Jeff, his 16-year-old brother, have combined to win five state Class AA titles for the Graham High wrestling team. Jim, a senior, has a high school record of 134-1 and has been the Ohio AA champion at 98, 105 and 119 pounds. He also won the 123-pound titles at the National Sports Festival and World Elite (16-18) meets last summer. Jeff, a junior, has a high school record of 119 victories and one defeat and has been an Ohio AA titlist at 98 and 105 pounds.
