Spencer-Galanes, 27, a broken-time skier, won the national women's 20-km. cross-country title in Bretton Woods, N.H. with a time of 58 minutes, 25.1 seconds. She earlier won the five- and 10-km. titles.

Keith, a 6'1" senior swingman for Andrews High, has paced the Mustang basketball team to a 28-2 record by averaging 22 points and 17 rebounds a game. He was also an all-state quarterback for the school's 10-1 football team.

Gallagher, 60, a history teacher, has coached the St. John's College High boys' basketball team to a 705-257 record and nine Washington, D.C. metro titles. The Cadets beat O'Connell High 101-68 on Jan. 26 to give him his 700th victory.

Ochse, 27, and Evans, 22, won the men's and women's divisions of the Empire State Building Run-Up. Ochse, a sports-medicine graduate student at East Stroudsburg (Pa.) State, ran-up the 86 floors from the lobby to the observation deck in 11 minutes, 41.1 seconds, passing 1981 winner Peter Squires, who had tripped, near the finish. Evans, an administrative assistant, finished in a women's record 13:34, beating runner-up Nina Kuscsik, a three-time winner.
