Gibson, 17, the goalie for Madison Memorial, led his soccer team to a two-year 31-1-3 record and the 1981 state title. Gibson had a .63 goals-against average; he also has earned All-America recognition as a high school gymnast.

Kim, 16, and Mark, 17, set three national inter-scholastic swimming records at the Ohio state high school meet. Mark's 1:48.97 in the 200-yard individual medley broke Christopher Cavanaugh's record by .42, and his 49.76 in the 100-yard backstroke cracked Dave Bottom's record by .35. Kim broke the mark of 1:04.20 for the 100-yard breaststroke established by Tracy Caulkins in 1978 by swimming a 1:03.109. Later in the day she broke her own record with a time of 1:02.49.

Metellus, 16, had a high jump of 7'¾" at a Canadian national senior indoor track and field meet in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Feb. 28. Just seven days afterward he jumped 7'½" at a junior indoor meet in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

AUBURN, KY.
Pike, 23, a 6'4" forward at Washington's Columbia Basin College, averaged 25.4 points and 11.0 rebounds for the 16-11 Hawks basketball team. He had 42 points in a five-overtime game that he won with a 12-foot jumper.

RUMSON, N.J.
Sourlis, a 5'4" senior guard, finished her career with 2,112 points, leading Rumson-Fair Haven to a 26-3 record. She holds the school's single-season records for most points (713), rebounds (308), steals (300) and assists (365).
