Tim, 15, drove his team of 10 sled dogs to victory in the fifth Junior Iditarod race, covering the 130-mile run from Settlers Bay to Yentna Station Lodge and back in 12 hours, 31 minutes, 42 seconds. He has been training sled dogs since 1979.

PAT RINALDI
CHEVY CHASE, MD.
Rinaldi, 37, is well on her way to becoming the National Duckpin Bowling Congress' No. 1-ranked woman bowler for a fifth consecutive season. After 374 games in 1982 her average is 141.540, only .059 below her world record average for '81.

Chris, a Memorial High senior, set a national age-group (17-18) swimming record in the 100-meter butterfly (54.98), a national high school mark in the 100-yard fly (48.49) and a state high school record in the 200-yard IM (1:50.50).

SHAWON DUNSTON
BROOKLYN
Shawon, a 6'1" senior shortstop at Thomas Jefferson High, has been named to the All-New York City baseball team for an unprecedented fourth season. He has 37 hits in 65 at bats for a .569 average and 33 stolen bases in 33 attempts.

SAN JUAN, P.R.
Hauck, 53, a professional scuba diver, became the first to swim the 51 miles between St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Fajardo, P.R. In an earlier attempt, he had been forced out of the water by the presence of 13-foot hammerhead sharks.

DOUG BARNETT
WEST COVINA, CALIF.
Barnett, a 6'3", 260-pound senior at Azusa Pacific University, broke his own NAIA record in the hammer throw (211'1½") with a toss of 225'10" at the NAIA national meet. He has been drafted as a defensive end by the Los Angeles Rams.
