Robert, a 37-year-old feed company president, and Lou Ann, a 35-year-old housewife, were the top trapshooters in Minnesota in 1982. He led the men with a combined shooting average of .9370 in registered competition for all three events: 16-yard, handicap and doubles. She placed first among the women at .9161. They were both named Amateur Trapshooting Association first-team All-Americas, thus becoming, it is believed, the first husband-and-wife combination to be so honored.

Duane, 17, a 5'9" point guard at Rensselaer High, scored 10 points in three seconds in a 71-68 basketball loss to Catskill. He made both ends of a 1 and 1, converted six more free throws resulting from three technicals and then drove for a layup.

LEWISTON, N.Y.
Bax, a 24-year-old liberal arts student at Niagara County CC, rolled an 833 series with games of 256, 298 and 279 on the first day of the 80th ABC Tournament, in Niagara Falls. His total and his 19 strikes in a row were meet records.

Dara, 15, swam the 50-meter freestyle in 25.69 in Amersfoort, Holland to surpass the world record of 25.79 set by Jill Sterkel in 1981. A two-time U.S. champion in the 50 free, she's the only American ever to beat Sterkel in that event.
ROBERT STULL
SAN MARCOS, TEXAS
Stull, a senior at Southwest Texas State, scored a record 5,705.95 points in the modern pentathlon during the U.S. team trials in San Antonio to beat Robert Nieman's 1982 mark of 5,700.73. His total included a perfect 1,100 in the ride.
