Kilili, a 25-year-old senior at San Jose State, outran a field of 1,500 to win the Los Angeles Marathon in 2:22:18. A two-time member of the Kenyan Olympic team as a 10,000- and 5,000-meter man, he was attempting
his first marathon.

Brezovar, a senior guard at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, averaged 35.8 points a game for the Raiders and became the state's first college player to score 1,000 points in a season. A mechanical engineering technology major, he has a 3.67 GPA.

CALGARY, ALBERTA
MacRae, a senior midhitter on the University of Calgary's women's volleyball team, has led the Dinnies to a Canadian college-record 38 straight league victories. She has averaged 33.1 kills per match, with a spiking percentage of 89.8.

HERMAN GEBHART
ANNVILLE, PA.
Gebhart, 85, a retired lineman for an electric company, shot a 10-over-par 81 at the Blue Mountain View Country Club in Fredericksburg, Pa. A self-taught duffer, he took up the sport 20 years ago when he was given clubs as a retirement gift.

Clifford, a 21-year-old lightweight, and Bernard, 19, a featherweight, became the first brothers to win U.S. amateur boxing championships in the same year. Clifford, whose career record is 115-10, decisioned Anthony Haskins at the USA Amateur Boxing Federation finals in Indianapolis. He was the national AAU titlist in 1980 as a featherweight. Bernard (114-14) outpointed Dino Ramirez to win his crown. He also won the National Sports Festival title in 1982.
