Lerner, the senior stroke, and Marks, the No. 7 seat, led Boston' University's women's crew, which was 5-0 in the regular season, to the Eastern Sprints varsity eights heavyweight title in Kent, Conn. Lerner, a physical therapy major with a 3.3 grade-point average, won the Gretchen Chuyler Award as the athletic department's top woman student-athlete, while Marks, a senior geology major with a 3.52 GPA in her major, has won similar honors from BU's College of Liberal Arts.
MATT STRICKLER
PONTIAC, MICH.
Matt, a 138-pound senior wrestler for Pontiac Catholic High, had a three-year 160-9-1 record and won three state Class C or Class D titles. His 65-0 record this year is the best ever for a single high school wrestling season.
BILL RIDDELL
YUKON, OKLA.
Riddell, a 46-year-old salesman with a 193 average, set a state record with an 869 series while bowling in the Hilander Traveling Mixed League in Oklahoma City. He rolled games of 279, 300 and 290 and threw 33 strikes in 35 tries.

CHATTANOOGA
Rhonda, a senior guard, led Chattanooga High's girls' basketball team to a 34-3 record and the state Class AA girls' title. She averaged 21.0 points and 9.5 assists a game and was named the state girls' tournament MVP for the second straight year.
BILLY CONVEY
CORAL GABLES, FLA.
Billy, a senior at Ransom-Everglades School, won the mile-(4:13.2) and two-mile (9:23.4) runs and anchored the Raiders' victorious mile medley relay team at the state Class AA track and field championships in Winter Park.
