Rosenthal, 20, a junior at the University of Tulsa, won the women's state match-play golf championship, beating Anne Zahn one-up. Rosenthal is the only golfer to win three consecutive state high school and junior championships.

Kiefel, 23, won an unprecedented three road titles at the U.S. National Cycling Championships in San Diego. Kiefel took the men's road race and the individual time trial and was a member of the 7-Eleven championship team.

AMHERST, MASS.
Adobee, 19, a freshman at Massachusetts, set an unofficial world record for running 100 yards backward (12.8 seconds) at an all-comers meet at Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine. The old mark was 13.1, set by Paul Wilson of New Zealand in 1979.

BROOMALL, PA.
Damon, 13, scored a second-round knockout of Joe Antepuna to win the Philadelphia Junior Olympic boxing title in the 13-and-under, 112-pound class. He has been boxing since age five and has an 8-1 record, with two KOs.

ALLENTOWN, PA.
Boyle, 72, a retired shipping clerk, completed his 44th season of softball, pitching for the Bethlehem (Pa.) Panthers. When not pitching, Boyle competes in Allentown's city bowling league (average: 180), ice skates and plays golf.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.
Greyard, 28, won the 198-pound title at the Southeastern Powerlifting Championships when he squatted 635 pounds, bench-pressed 400 and deadlifted 650. He holds the state records for the deadlift (690) and total (1,735).
