Eddie, 12, won an age-group double at the TAC Nationals in Dayton with his victories in the 1,500 (4:36) and 3,000 (9:54) meters for boys 10 to 12. He was also the winner in his age group at the 1982 TAC National Cross-Country championships.

Averbach, 22, a waitress, swept the three events in the 132-pound class at the Central Carolina Powerlifting Championships. Two of her winning lifts, a 175-pound bench press and a 350-pound dead lift, set state women's records.

Vavra, a senior quarterback at the University of Calgary, completed 29 of 40 passes, including 20 in a row, for 627 yards and six TDs in the Dinosaurs' 61-30 win over the University of Saskatchewan. He also scored 14 points on kicks.

Dalrymple, 41, a freelance writer, won the TAC women's masters 15-km run in El Paso, in 55:19, surpassing her national record for 41-year-olds by 21 seconds. She has also qualified for the 1984 Olympic women's marathon trials.

Karl, a junior at the Louisiana School for the Deaf, scored four TDs—two rushing, one returning a kickoff and another on an interceptions—passed for a fifth, kicked three PATs and made 13 unassisted tackles in a 33-24 win over Doyle High.

ALBA, MICH.
Lori, a 6'2½" junior basketball center at St. Mary Cathedral School, scored 54 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the Snowbirds' 67-56 win over Atlanta High. She made 25 of 29 shots in setting a Ski Valley League girls' scoring record.
