DeForrest, 26, led off for the St. Louis Masters in the 4 X 50-meter freestyle relay at the U.S. Masters Swimming meet with a 22.59 leg, equaling the third-best clocking ever in the 50 free. His time was .05 shy of Robin Leamy's world record.

Monique, a 5'8" senior guard for the Morgantown St. Francis High girls' basketball team, has scored 2,853 points over her four seasons to set the West Virginia girls' high school career scoring record. She has had single-game highs of 52 and 54.

Hardin, a senior quarterback-running back for 8-2 Red Springs High, had 437 yards total offense in a 37-6 win over South Brunswick. He had three TDs and a two-point conversion, kicked a field goal and completed four of five passes.

Duvall, a junior forward for the Western Washington University women's soccer team, scored all the goals in a 3-0 win over the University of Washington. It was the Vikings' 22nd consecutive victory over the last two seasons.

Mark, 16, won national junior championships in the 105½-pound division in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. He has twice been the Iowa Class AA titlist in his weight class and was 26-0 last season for Osage High.
