Jesse, a 180-pound senior back at St. Albans School in Washington, D.C., ran for 889 yards and scored 15 touchdowns for the 6-3 Bulldogs, despite losing three games because of injury and illness. He averaged 7.2 yards per carry.

Jay, a 6-foot junior basketball point guard at John Glenn High, was averaging 39.2 points and six assists through Sunday for the 14-2 Little Muskies. He had averaged 40.1 points per game as a sophomore and has had seven 50-plus games.
DEMER HOLLERAN
GREENWICH, CONN.
Demer, a junior at Exeter Academy, won the national girls' 18-and-under squash title by beating Diana Edge 15-10, 15-8, 15-10. Demer, who won every game in her five tournament matches, was a 14- and 16-and-under girls' national champ.
ED AGRANOWITZ
GAINESVILLE, FLA.
Agranowitz, 35, a math teacher, won the 1983 state singles and doubles hard-court tennis titles in the 35-and-over age group. The No. 9-ranked 30-and-over amateur in the state, he reached the finals of 41 tournaments, winning 27.

FOSTER CITY, CALIF.
Janet, a senior at John P. Stevens High, won the girls' division of a national high school cross-country meet in San Diego with a time of 16:43.7 over the 5-km course. She's a three-time state champion and won all 16 of her races in 1983. Matt, a senior at San Mateo High, won the boys' division in a time of 14:54.1 over the same course. An All-Northern California selection who won eight of his 15 races in '83, he was the upset winner in a field that included 18 state champions.
