LEADING OFF: Plus fours blossomed like the azaleas in Augusta, Ga., where perennial fashion plate Payne Stewart got off to a red-hot start in Wednesday's par-3 tournament with a predominantly red ensemble. He and Billy Casper then donned orchidaceous hues as serious play began. But—shudders!—while Stewart stuck with the oldtimers golf cap, Casper donned one of those ever-so-common endorsement chapeaus. Tacky, Billy, tacky. No wonder you missed the cut. (Stewart finished tied for 21st.)
