Grissom, 45, a former Olympic hurdler and long jumper, threw the discus 106'5" to set her seventh U.S. women's over-40, five-year age-group record. She has marks in the shot, javelin and long and high jumps.

Marty, a 5'11", 170-pound junior right wing on the Edina High hockey team and son of North Stars general manager Lou, led the Hornets to the state crown, scoring the title-clinching goal in a 4-2 victory over Bloomington Kennedy High.

Mark, a senior forward on the Killian High soccer team, scored 50 goals to lead the Cougars to a 25-2 season and their second straight Miami Class AAAA championship. He had a total of 108 goals during his high school career.

WASHINGTON, ILL.
Chasco, a junior DH for Nicholls State in Louisiana, hit three home runs—including a grand slam with two out in the ninth—to lead the Colonels to a 12-8 win over Southwestern Louisiana. He also had a single and six RBIs.

Greg, a junior at Issaquah High School, and Maia, a sophomore at Bainbridge Island High, were the individual champions in the Washington State Inter-scholastic Orienteering League Championships in Seattle. Greg won the boys' title by almost two minutes over Vince Firlotte of Seattle, covering the rugged 3.35-km wilderness course in 22:52. In the girls' competition, Maia finished 15 seconds ahead of Michelle Everett, also of Seattle, with a time of 31:30 over the same course.
