Bobby, a senior at Perkins-Tryon High, drove in 16 runs to set a national high school record as the Demons beat Glencoe High 42-0. He also stole seven bases and struck out 13 batters before the game was called after 4½ innings.

DONNELL GAILS
CLEVELAND, MISS.
Donnell, a 6'3" freshman basketball guard-forward for East Side High, set a school and conference single-game scoring record with 49 points as he led the Trojans past Hollandale Simmons High 93-85. He averaged 19 points a game this season.

AMY TORCZON
TAFT, CALIF.
Amy, a 5'11½" senior forward-center at Taft Union High, led the Wildcats in scoring average (26.3), assists (23), steals (76) and rebounds (163) as 21-3 Taft Union placed second in the sectional. She also holds five girls' track records.

DEAN OSMAR
CLAM GULCH, ALASKA
Osmar, 37, a commercial salmon fisherman, beat 45 other finishers to win the annual Iditarod dogsled race. He and his team of 18 huskies covered approximately 1,100 miles from Anchorage to Nome in 12 days, 15 hours and seven minutes.

Becky, 33, and Don, 49, coaches of the Clarion University women's swimming and men's diving teams, respectively, are believed to be the first husband-wife pair ever to win NCAA Coach of the Year honors. Becky's Golden Eagles won their fifth straight title at this year's Division II national meet at Hofstra. Five of Don's divers placed among the top eight in the three-meter event and five among the first 11 in the one-meter as the Golden Eagles finished third in the men's Division II nationals.
