Andrea, 9, had a league-leading 35 goals and six hat tricks, including one seven-goal game and three in which she had six goals, as she led the coed Rams to the Squirt League ice hockey championship. She attends Blue Grass Elementary.

Jensen, 75, the retired president of Muhlenberg College, twice has been ranked No. 1 by the USTA in singles—first, as the top 65-to-70-year-old tennis player (1973), then as the best 75-to-80-year-old (1983). He has never taken a lesson.

Lisa, a freshman softball pitcher at Northwestern, struck out an NCAA-record 469 batters to lead the Wildcats to a 41-17 season. She gave up only 98 hits in 302 innings, had a 0.46 ERA and pitched 10‚Öî perfect innings in the college world series.

Harrison, a freshman at Nebraska, set a school record for pitching victories in a season (10) and picked off 33 runners in 74‚Öì innings, including three in one inning during a 6-4 win over Missouri Western. The team had a 46-20 record.

Marybeth and Larry, a senior and junior at Benet Academy and Goodlettsville High, respectively, each won four events to lead their schools to team track and field titles. Marybeth's victories in the 400 (61.7), 800 (2:29.3), 1,600 (5:44.2) and 3,200 (12:26.6) paced the Redwings to the West Suburban Catholic Conference crown. Larry scored all of the Trojans' 40 points by winning the 100 (10.62), 200 (21.64), 400 (47.4) and long jump (21'6"), thus enabling his team to tie for the state 1A-2A title.
