Wendy, a senior at Woodside High, broke her own national high school girls' triple jump record by one inch with a leap of 42'10½". She also set state high school girls' records in the long jump (20'9¾") and high jump (6'1¾").

Perry, 29, a yachting instructor and writer, won sailing's prestigious Congressional Cup for the second year in a row. He skippered a Catalina 38 with a crew of six to a 9-0 record over three days of match racing off Long Beach, Calif.

Sutfin, 21, qualified for the U.S. Olympic track and field team in the javelin with a throw of 190'7". In February she gave birth by Cesarean, and last September, following elbow surgery, she was told she would never throw again.

Jill, an eighth-grader at Red Bank Junior High, pitched four no-hitters and one perfect game to lead the Cubs softball team to the county junior high championship. Her record was 14-0, with 172 strikeouts in 87 innings and a 0.06 ERA.

Bill, 44, coached son Gregg, 17, and the Northwest High baseball team to their third straight state Class A championship. In the 4-2 title victory over Millard South, Gregg, a righthander, struck out 10, hit two homers and drove in the four Husky runs. As a pitcher, he was 8-0 for the season with a 0.98 ERA. Bill's 13-year 184-64 record includes a 40-game win streak dating back to the 1983 season. He now has been named Nebraska's high school baseball Coach of the Year five times.
