J.D., 13, won three junior events—the jumping, slalom and overall—at the U.S. Water Ski National Championship in Zachary, La. He also holds the national boys junior jumping record, having leaped 119 feet last July near Seffner, Fla.
SHAWN SUMMERS
OAK RIDGE, TENN.
Shawn, 11, a quarterback, led the 9-0 Mustangs to the AAA league Pee Wee football title. He rushed for 740 yards, threw nine TD passes and had no interceptions. The Mustangs averaged 30 points a game and shut out all regular-season foes.

Kirsten, a senior at Saucon Valley High School, shot a four-over-par 75 on the Upper Perk course to beat teammate Jim Challenger by one stroke and become, the first girl ever to win the Colonial League golf tournament, in Hellertown, Pa.

ST. PETERSBURG BEACH, FLA.
Staton, 75, a retired salesman, won a Grand Slam in senior tennis by winning all four national 75-and-over singles titles in one year: the clay court, grass court and indoor and outdoor hard court. In 1975 he won the 65-and-over Grand Slam.

PORTLAND, ORE.
Strobeck, a first-year goalkeeper for Warner Pacific College, had 10 shutouts in backstopping the Knights to a 23-3 record and third place in the NAIA championships. During the regular season, he allowed only .6 goals a game.

HOLLISTER, CALIF.
Eric, a junior running back at Hollister High, ran 28 times for 271 yards and three TDs as the Haybalers beat Soquel 35-19 to win the Central Coast Section Division II South title. He had 1,269 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in 12 games.
