Carrie and Linetta rounded out their senior year at Muir High with 1985 national high school bests in individual events—Carrie in the 100-meters (11.61) and Linetta in the 300-meter low hurdles (41.54). They also joined Nikky Caddell and Lana Cantrell to break two national high school records with a clocking of 3:37.69 in the 1,600-meter relay and a 56.78 in the 400-meter shuttle hurdles relay. Carrie will attend UNLV in the fall, and Linetta will go to Nebraska.

Sue, a Benet Academy catcher and switch hitter, ended her junior year by leading the Redwings to the West Suburban Catholic Conference championship and a 21-2-1 season record. She led the team in runs (39), HRs (2) and RBIs (39).

MOBILE, ALA.
Brown, a 36-year-old insurance salesman, won the Metro Golf Championship for the sixth consecutive year, on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff. He and Richard Jeffers were tied after 72 holes with three-under-par 285s.

TEMPERANCE, MICH.
Doug, who recently graduated from Bedford High, won his weight class in the Class A state wrestling championship for the second straight year to finish his career with a 143-8-0 three-year record. He was 101-0 his last two seasons.
