LaBossier, a senior at Yale, won the U.S. men's amateur hardball squash racquets championship in New York City. LaBossier defeated Kenton Jernigan, a Harvard senior and three-time winner, 15-11, 8-15, 15-7, 18-16.

LISA SIME
KEY BISCAYNE, FLA.
Lisa, a junior forward on the Ransom-Everglades High girls' soccer team, had nine goals and two assists in an 11-1 rout of Homestead High in the District 16 quarterfinals. She scored 52 goals for the 13-3 Raiders, who were beaten in the semis.

TIM WALSH
WEST HARTFORD, CONN.
Walsh, a 5'10" senior guard on the Williams College basketball team, set a school career scoring mark of 1,626 points, averaging 18.4 points per game. This past season Walsh scored 22.6 points per game for the Ephs, who were 12-11.

GEREMI WEISS
SILVER SPRING, MD.
Geremi, 12, won the ladies' intermediate class of the Eastern National figure skating championships, finishing first in both the figures and freestyle competitions. Geremi was the only intermediate skater to win both categories.

ALAN COHEN
BLAUVELT, N.Y.
Cohen, 56, won 17 of 18 events in his age group in two TAC masters track meets. In one meet, he won the 100 yards, 440, 880, mile, long and triple jumps, and javelin. The next day he won those or their metric equivalents, and the discus.

FRED JOHNSON
WELLSVILLE, MO.
Fred, a 6'4½" senior center on the Wellsville-Middletown-R-1 High basketball squad, had scored 3,491 points in his career, a state record, as the 28-2 Tigers advanced to the semifinals of the tournament for the Class 1-A state championship.
