Janu, a South Shore High senior, ran the 300 meters in 38.9 at the state indoor track championships in Syracuse, N.Y., to set a new state record. She later won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in the New York City outdoor championship meet.

ARVADA, COLO.
Nick, a seven-year-old soccer goalie for the 8-0-2 Arvada Thunderbirds, let no goals by him all season. He stopped a last-minute penalty kick in the final game against the Arvada Thundercats to lead his team to the Arvada FIFA title.

LYONS, ILL.
Sue, a senior, pitched Cicero-Berwyn Morton High to a 2-1 win over Belleville West High for the Illinois state Softball championship. The Mustangs finished 38-0-1, and Sue had a 27-0-1 record with a 0.39 ERA while batting .435.
PARK LOCKROW
CHATTANOOGA
Lockrow, 32, the Baylor School's tennis coach for the last seven years, has an 85-0 dual-meet record, including district and regional championships every year. This season Lockrow led the Red Raiders to their third state title.
MARY BLAIR FARINHOLT
GLOUCESTER, VA.
Farinholt, a senior attack in lacrosse at Sweet Briar College, scored 60 goals this season for the 12-6 Vixens. She had 158 career goals and 52 assists, averaging 3.75 ppg, and was All-America three of her four years.
DUANE HOLLAND
DEVON, PA.
Duane, a nine-year-old gymnast at Devon Elementary, recently won both the state and regional championships. At the regionals he scored 58.60 out of 60 in the compulsory, the highest score ever achieved by a U.S. junior gymnast.
