NICHOLASVILLE, KY.
Heasley, a junior at Kenyon College, swam to NCAA records in the
100- and 200-yard butterfly (57.96 and 2:07.57) at the Division III
championships in Canton, Ohio. She was also victorious in the 200-
and 400-yard individual medleys.

MENDHAM, N.J.
Cooper, who now plays first base for the Padres' Class A farm club
in Spokane, batted .446 last season as a junior at Georgia Southern.
He finished in the NCAA Division I top 10 in home runs (26), RBIs
(94) and slugging percentage (.892).
SHANNON COVINGTON
DENHAM SPRINGS, LA.
Shannon, 16, a junior at Denham Springs High, led her softball
team to a 25-0 record and the state AAAA high school title. She
pitched 13 shutouts, 2 perfect games and 2 no-hitters for the Yellow
Jackets en route to a 23-0 season and an 0.97 ERA.

NEW BRITAIN, CONN.
Noniewicz, 21, a senior at the University of Vermont and the
captain of the Catamount lacrosse team, was one of the 10 best
goalies in the nation with a .654 save percentage. It was the third
year that Noniewicz finished in the top 10.

NEWBURGH, IND.
Lanae, 18, defeated Brenda Hacker 6-3, 6-1 to become Indiana's
first four-time state high school tennis singles champion. Lanae, who
plans to attend the University of Texas, completed her career at
Castle High with a 100-0 record.

JACKSONVILLE
Andrew, 18, who last June graduated from Wolfson High, shot a
final-round 70 for a one-under total of 212 for 54 holes to win the
Press Thornton Future Masters Golf Tournament in Dothan, Ala. The
field included 633 competitors.
