David, 13, led the Pirates to second place in the Northern California District Little League with a 9-1 season record. He struck out 153 batters in 55 innings, batted .784 and slugged 13 home runs, with three grand slams.

MacRae, 39, a housewife and the mother of four, reeled in a 608.5-pound blue marlin in the Gulf Stream off Morehead City, N.C., to win the Big Rock tournament. The big catch took 45 minutes to land and came in MacRae's first tournament.

Chris, a junior at Wisconsin, won her fourth consecutive U.S.T.A. national amateur title when she defeated Jane Thomas, of UCLA 3-6, 7-5, 7-6, in Cleveland. She and her sister, Wendy, also won their second national doubles crown.

Seibold, 32, a metal cutter in an auto factory, won his second World Horseshoe Pitching title, in Ainsworth, Neb. Seibold's record was 31-0, and he had an 82.2 ringer percentage. He won his first championship in 1979.

NIANTIC, CONN.

Hill, 54, an investment counselor, won seven gold medals at the International Masters Swimming Championships in Tokyo. He won all five freestyle events in the 50-54 age group—the 50, 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters—and swam on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relay teams. Slimak, 38, a special-education teacher swimming in the 35-39 age group, won gold medals in the 100- and 200-meter breaststrokes, and silver medals in the 50-meter breaststroke and the 200 individual medley.
