Lance, a senior linebacker for Wolfson High, had 33 tackles (22 solo, 11 assists), caused two fumbles and recovered a third during a game against Andrew Jackson High. In spite of Lance's efforts, the Wolfpack was defeated 27-13.

CHRISTY LEE
MAX MEADOWS, VA.
Christy, a senior guard on the Fort Chiswell High girls' basketball team, had 12 assists in a 74-53 defeat of Shawsville to raise her career total to 675, surpassing the national career record of 670 held by Tami Fick of Coronado (Calif.) High.

JOE BRINSON
PALATKA, FLA.
Brinson, a senior running back at St. Mary of the Plains in Dodge City, Kans., broke the six-year-old NAIA career rushing record of 5,194 yards held by Bobby Hedrick of Elon College. Brinson has 5,537 yards with one game left.

AL MACKENZIE
RENTON, WASH.
Mackenzie, a 41-year-old dentist, won gold medals in four-oared shell and mixed eight and a silver in the men's quad at the U.S. Rowing Masters National Championships in Seattle. During the two-day event, Mackenzie won six medals.

ANDREA FARLEY
CINCINNATI
Andrea, 15, a member of the Indian Hill High tennis team, beat Lisa McFarlan of Perkins High in Sandusky 6-1, 6-2 to win her second consecutive state Class A-AA singles title. Her overall schoolgirl record now stands at 70-1.

STUART HANSON
LISBON, N. DAK.
Stuart, 12, defeated 54 other entrants to win the state championship in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition, in Jamestown. It was the fourth consecutive year he won his age division. Stuart is a sixth-grader at Lisbon Public School.
