Kirk, a senior quarterback at Valley High, has set a national high school single-season record of 54 TD passes, surpassing the record 50 last season by Sol Graves of Quachita Christian High in Monroe, La. Kirk has up to four playoff games left.

MT. LEBANON, PA.
Shelly, a senior striker on the Mt. Lebanon High soccer team, scored 46 goals in leading the Blue Devils to a 23-0 season and the league championship. In the title game, she scored the only goal in overtime to beat Upper St. Clair.

RUSSELL WHITE
ENCINO, CALIF.
Russell, who is a sophomore tailback at Crespi High, averaged 12.7 yards a carry in leading the Celts to a 9-1 record in the Big Five Conference. He is a nephew of 1979 USC Heisman Trophy winner tailback Charles White.

STEPHANIE HARTSELL
LILBURN, GA.
Stephanie, 14, the national indoor youth freestyle archery champion, won that division at the national outdoor five-day championships in Watkins Glen, N.Y. She finished 282 points ahead of Deborah Smith of Charlotte, N.C.

BRENT GOULET
TACOMA, WASH.
Goulet, who is a senior forward on the Warner Pacific College soccer team, scored 108 career goals in 90 games. He led the Knights to the NAIA District 2 championship by scoring two goals in a 3-0 victory over Pacific University.

SOYOUNG LEE
WICHITA, KANS.
Soyoung, a senior at Wichita Southeast High, defeated Leslie Lewis of Shawnee Mission South 6-3, 7-5 to win her third consecutive Class 6A singles tennis title. She completed her three-year high school career with a 77-0 record.
