Kim, a freshman at Old Orchard Beach High, ran the fastest 40-yard dash ever by a woman on the Bowdoin College indoor track (5.2 seconds) in her first high school meet. Bowdoin's Kristi King set the previous mark (5.3) in 1980.

Steve, 14, had a 56-3 record with 23 pins over four years to become the first three-time Slate Belt Midget League wrestling champ from St. Anthony's Youth Center, home club of 1984 Olympic 105.5-pound gold medalist Bobby Weaver.

MORGAN CITY, LA.
Gary, a Morgan City High junior, became the first male to win the International Open Cheer-leading Championship, in Nashville. He also averages 11 points per game for the Tiger basketball team, runs hurdles and has a 3.9 GPA.

The Wings, who have been married for 36 years but have been swimming as a synchronized pair for just three, won the 60-69 age group competition at both the Golden Age Games in Sanford, Fla., and the Synchronized Swimming Masters National Championships in Fort Lauderdale. Louise, 68, has won a national title in each of the 12 years she has competed. She also coaches. Fred, 74, is a retired Department of Defense contracting officer who began synchronized swimming in 1984.
