VISIONS OF VENUS
The Aussies can have the America's Cup. This American will take Australia's Elle Macpherson anytime (Sugar and Spice and, Oh, So Nice, Feb. 9).
GEORGE C. REED
Elle, Kathy Ireland, Kim Alexis, Carol Alt, Karen Alexander, Renèe Simonsen and Monika Schnarre are stunningly beautiful, athletically built women. We are talking serious goddesses here. We're talking Venus de Milo with arms—and legs and....
One Elle of an issue! One of my Alt-ime favorites.

After seeing Kathy at bat, I finally understand the Mets' slogan, "Baseball like it oughta be!"

Thank you for curing my slice. After intensely studying the picture of Kathy on the Teeth of the Dog golf course in the Dominican Republic, I can now imagine the beautiful Ms. Ireland lying in the left rough of every hole as I stand ready to tee off. I don't think I'll ever hit the ball left to right again.

You know how every year after your swimsuit issue you get at least one letter from a bunch of cold, tired, overworked college students at a frozen East Coast university thanking you for warming up their dreary winter days? Well, this is it.
KEN STEINFIELD AND FRIENDS
Although my wife didn't like some of the swimsuits, I prefer not to quibble over technicalities.

My wife and I are in the process of planning a second honeymoon. Would you please assist me by sending me the locale and time of next year's swimsuit shooting?
P.S. Please don't tell my wife. I want to surprise her.
I am compelled to cancel my subscription. Apparently, I am one of a dwindling number who condemn this public ogling. Thanks for excellent sports coverage. Too bad you have lost your way.
As a charter subscriber, I object strongly to your swimsuit edition. To paraphrase St. Paul's second letter to the Thessalonians 2:9-10, I find it part of the workings of Satan, encompassing all the power and wonder at the disposal of falsehood—or any seduction the wicked can devise—for the ruin of many, spiritually and morally.
FATHER PHILODORE H. LEMAY, M.S.
Recently, I viewed Nancy Reagan on television discussing the high rate of teenage pregnancies and what parents and the public must do to alleviate this problem. It's a shame that our media feel that sex must constantly be thrown in our faces.
We subscribe to SPORTS ILLUSTRATED to have it placed in the libraries of our schools. However, the Feb. 9 edition certainly does not set a good example for our young people. We are strongly opposed to this type of publication.

Once again, you have neglected your women readers. Where are all the tight ends in tight Speedos?
MARIANA MEJIA, ROBBIN GARBERO
When you begin to give as much coverage to women as athletes as you do to women as sex objects, I shall be happy to renew my subscription.

Kathy in a baseball cap of the hated New York Letsgoes? I am offended!
WILLIAM C. STEINER
How could you? I have three tests this week, and there is no way I can study with Elle, Kim, Karen, Carol and the other beauties in the house. Please delay next year's issue until spring break. How about another picture of Kathy?
•Here she is, on Bayihibe Beach at Casa de Campo, in a Coca-Cola by Gabar ($37).—ED.
