Tom, a junior at Capital High, led the Brains' swim team to the state championship, in Helena. He won the 200-yard free (1:47.82) and the 500 free (4:59.74) and anchored Capital's victorious 200-yard medley relay team.

Tyrone, a senior at Buchholz High, SCI a state indoor high school record of 48.14 for the 400-meter run, in Gainesville. That performance, which shaved .26 off Clifton I bell's 1985 mark, is the fastest this season by a U.S. schoolboy.

Wilson. 33, a ski instructor, won the Bud Light Mountain Man Winter Triathlon in Avon, Colo., over 120 competitors. He skied 15 miles cross-country, snowshoed 9.1 miles and skated 12.4 miles in a combined time of 4:22:26.

Good, 29, the skip for the Granite Curling Club, scored a double takeout in the last end of the title match at the U.S. ladies curling championship, in St. Paul, to give her link a 7-6 win Over Minnesota and a trip to the world championships.

Blazek, a senior forward for the Rosary College basketball team, scored 43 points in a 102-88 victory over Northeastern Illinois to become Illinois's alltime leading college scorer. In four years he has accumulated 2,943 points.
