Andrea, 17, defeated Luanne Spadea 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 to win the girls' 18's Easter Bowl tennis title. Last year she won the girls' 16's division. She is the sixth girl in the tournament's 20-year history to win consecutive age-group titles.

Haromma, a Rosedale Middle School eighth-grader, rushed for 900 yards in football, placed second in the city in wrestling and averaged 20.7 points per game in basketball to lead the Wildcats to undefeated seasons in three sports.

McManus, a senior forward on the Lafayette College basketball team, set a school and East Coast Conference women's career-scoring record of 1,813 points. The old record of 1,680 was set by Shawn Steward of Lehigh from 1983 to '86.

Brent, a junior center-left wing at Rye High, had 42 goals and 50 assists in 18 games to lead his team to the state ice hockey semifinals, where it lost to Massena 9-4. Brent is the son of former New York Ranger coach Tom Webster.

Gillian, a seventh-grader at Mount Desert Island Elementary School, set state swimming records at the U.S. Eastern Zone Championships in Buffalo in the girls' 11-12-year-old 50-yard (34.33) and 100-yard (1:13.42) breaststroke events.

David, a junior catcher at Dobson High, became the first Arizona schoolboy—and only the seventh in the nation—to hit two grand slam home runs in the same inning, as he led the Mustangs to a 20-8 victory over Mesa High.
