Lori, 15, won four gold medals in three European meets as a member of the U.S. junior elite (15 to 18) synchronized swim team. She defeated competitors from 13 other nations at the Vienna Open to win the solo and share the duet crowns.

Sprengelmeyer, a 41-year-old computer programmer, won his first multiday race with a world-best 1,250 miles in the 18 days allotted at the Sri Chinmoy 1,300-mile run, in Flushing (N.Y.) Meadow Park.

Tracy, who will be a freshman at the University of Hartford, had a two-year record of 48-0 and an ERA of 0.39 as she led Southington High to two state Class LL Softball titles. She had eight no-hitters, including three perfect games.

Todd, 17, fanned 20 of 21 batters, allowing one hit, a homer, as he led the Cardinals of Farmington's Connie Mack Division to a 2-1 win over the Diablos. He was 6-0 with a 1.83 ERA this past year for the Farmington High Scorpions.

Catharina, 20, and her brother, Peter, 22, won the Ohio women's and men's amateur golf championships. Catharina defeated Diana Schwab, 45, of Kettering 2 and 1 in their 36-hole title match at the Mohawk Golf Club in Tiffin. Three weeks earlier, Peter shot a two-over-par 290 to win his title by three strokes over Tom Carr, 21, of Columbus, at the Brookside Country Club in Canton. Catharina will be a sophomore and Peter a senior at Ohio State, where both play varsity golf.
