Trayer, 33, a delivery truck driver, won his fourth straight 62.1-mile Great Philadelphia to Atlantic City Road Race, in 6:49:36, beating Jonathan DeHart of Jenkintown, Pa., by 56:15 and winning the national 100-km title.

Stephanie, a freshman at St. Andrews High, broke the U.S. girls' high school record for the 100-yard backstroke, at the state Class 3A swim meet. Her time of 56.41 lowered by .13 the mark set by Beth Barr of Woodham (Fla.) High, in 1986.
Michael, a senior tailback at Carver High, rushed 32 times for 434 yards and six TDs to lead the Panthers to a 36-6 win over Archer High. He broke Keith Henderson's state high school single-game rushing record by 11 yards.
Stenzel, a goalkeeper for the Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer team, blanked Willamette 2-0, for her 11th straight shutout, thought to be an NAIA record. Joan Sutherland, also of Pacific Lutheran, set the old mark in 1983.
GRANITE FALLS, MINN.
Hanson, a 52-year-old dentist, had two holes in one in one round of golf at Granite Falls Country Club, giving him four aces this year. He used an eight-iron to make his only shot on both the 122-yard 2nd hole and the 135-yard 9th.
KENNETT SQUARE, PA.
Turner, a junior midfielder and cocaptain of the Maryland field hockey team, scored two unassisted goals—the second one with 6:49 left in overtime—to give the Terrapins a 2-1 win over North Carolina and the NCAA championship.
