In Like A Lamb, Out Like a Lion
Early March was wake-up time for baseball. Later came the Knightowls. Indiana's Keith Smart hit a 12-foot jumper with four seconds left to give coach Bob Knight and his Hoosiers the NCAA basketball title, 74-73 over Syracuse. Meanwhile, WBC heavyweight champion Mike Tyson decisioned WBA pretender Bonecrusher Smith, and Iowa State broke Iowa's nine-year hold on the NCAA wrestling crown. Four world records fell at the first world indoor track championships, in Indianapolis. Oddsmakers in Nevada listed the Minnesota Twins as a 125-to-1 shot to win the World Series.
