Bulkley, 70, ran the 300-meter hurdles in 53.84 to set a 70-74 age-group world record at the Veterans Games in Melbourne, Australia. He won the gold in the 800, the 1,500, the 4 ‚Äö√†√∂‚àö‚â• 400 relay and the 2,000-meter steeplechase.

Julie, a senior swimmer at Brighton High, set a state high school girls' record of 24.30 to win her second straight Class 4A girls' 50-yard-freestyle crown. She also won the 100-free title to lead Brighton to its seventh state girls' title in a row.
Rainey, a sophomore at Harvard, set a meet record in winning the 400-meter run at the Heptagonal indoor track and field championships. Her time of 53.89 seconds broke the record set by Heather Ruddock of Columbia in 1986.
Sellman, 51, boys' gymnastics coach at Franklin High, guided the Wildcats to their eighth state championship in his 18 years at the school. Since 1970, he has coached 12 individual state champions and 20 high school All-Americas.
