Cummings, a senior lacrosse player for No. 1-ranked Temple, holds school marks for career points (370), goals in a season (88) and career goals (283). She led the undefeated Lady Owls in scoring in 13 of 17 regular-season games.

Tony, 9, became the youngest pilot to fly across the U.S. and back. Accompanied by a flight instructor and three passengers, he flew a single-engine Cessna 210 from Los Angeles to Boston, then returned. The 15-stop trip took 10 days.

Wilson, a 5'11" junior center for Central Missouri State, shot 62.7% from the field, second among Division II women players, and was a first-team All-America in the division. She also averaged 17.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game.

Stauber, a sophomore goaltender at Minnesota, is the first player at his position to win the Hobey Baker Award as collegiate hockey's outstanding player. He allowed only 2.67 goals per game for the 34-10 Golden Gophers.

NORTHPORT, N.Y.
Wycoff, a U.S. Military Academy junior, set a Division II women's 400-yard individual medley record of 4:25.45 at the NCAA championships. She also won three other events and was named the meet's outstanding female swimmer.

Thatcher, 33, coached the men's and women's basketball teams at Northampton County Area C.C. to state titles with records of 27-7 and 27-1. He was named men's and women's coach of the year by the state juco association.
