Liza, a recent graduate of Breck School, won her third straight Class A girls' state golf title. She shot an even-par 75 in the final round for a two-day total of 163, five shots better than that of runner-up Holly Duncan of Lake City High.

Imahara, 51, a landscapes claimed his ninth national masters' weight-lifting title when he won the 148-pound class with a 181¾-pound snatch and a 242½ clean and jerk. He was second in last year's world masters' open meet.

Bowles, 50, an interior designer, caught, after a two-hour fight, a 950½-pound Pacific blue marlin off Hawaii's Kailua Kona coast, which surpassed by 276½ pounds the women's world record on an 80-pound-test line for this fish.

CLINTON, MD.
Michelle, who will be a junior at Surrattsville High, struck out 35 batters in a 14-inning state high school Softball title game, which the Hornets won 1-0 over Frederick High. She finished the season with a 24-0 record and an ERA of 0.12.

QADRY ISMAIL
WILKES-BARRE, PA.
Raghib and Qadry, brothers who are recent graduates of Meyers High, won six gold medals at the state Class AA track and field meet. Raghib won the 100 meters (10.63) and the long jump (24'3½"), and Qadry set state high school records in the 300 intermediate hurdles (37.56) and the 110 hurdles (14.04). In the 4 X 100 relay, the brothers helped set a state high school mark of 42.65. Qadry has the third-best 1988 time among high schoolers in the 110 hurdles (13.71).
