Brandy, a senior midfielder, scored the only goal in North Eugene High's successful defense of its District 5 girls' soccer title against South Eugene. Her 25 goals and 19 assists helped the 14-1 Highlanders out-score opponents 80-5.

Kira, a senior tennis player at St. Paul Academy, became the first four-time high school singles champion in Minnesota when she defeated Katie Mixon of Minneapolis Breck 6-1, 6-0 in the final of Class A girls' competition.

Pam, a senior center-forward, set a state single-season scoring record of 21 goals as she led Homewood-Flossmoor High's field hockey team to its second consecutive state championship. It was her second straight state scoring title.

Scott, a senior running back, scored four touchdowns to set a state single-season record of 38 TDs as Hillsboro High beat Farmington High 39-38 in overtime. In the next game, the season finale, he added four TDs to his record.

Cornell, a 72-year-old retired gym teacher, beat Judy Quillen, 43, of Glens Falls, N.Y., 4 and 3 in the final of the Queensbury Country Club women's golf championship. It was her 15th victory in the event in 32 years.
