Paula, a senior, and Andrea, a junior, each got three first-place medals at the girls' state meet, as they led Minot High to its 11th straight girls' state swimming title. Andrea set a girls' state high school record in the 100-yard butterfly (58.51) and won the 50 free (24.71), while Paula established a girl's state record in the 500 free (5:18.02) and won the 200 free (1:57.71). The Rudsers also swam on Minot's victorious 4 X 100 free relay team, which set a girls' state record (3:42.48).

Holly, a senior, led St. Paul's Episcopal School to its fifth straight A-3A girls' state indoor track title by winning both the mile and two-mile runs for the third time in five years. She holds 16 individual state titles in track and cross-country.

DALE THOMAS
EDDYVILLE, ORE.
Thomas, 66, became the first college wrestling coach to win 600 matches as he guided Oregon State to a 19-16 victory over Brigham Young. His record over 33 years with the Beavers is 601-157-11, and he has won 22 Pac-10 titles.

Higgins, a senior center at Northern Colorado, had scored 1,301 points through last week to become the North Central Conference's alltime basketball scoring leader. He holds 16 school records, including most points in a game (46).

CHRISTINA BOKELUND
GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN
Bokelund, a senior at Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, beat Melissa Nelson of Odessa College to win the women's singles, and teamed with Portia George for the women's doubles crown at the Small College Tennis Championships.
