Dan, a Coventry High senior, became the first four-time New England high school wrestling champion when he beat Angel Rivera of Springfield (Mass.) Cathedral 7-6 in the 125-pound-class final. His four-year record was 115-0-1.

BLOOMINGTON, IND.
Manuel, a senior at Bloomington South High, set a U.S. high school record in the 200-yard individual medley (1:48.34) and swam the freestyle leg of the Panthers' national record 200-yard medley relay (1:33.39) at the state championships.

LEXINGTON, KY.
David, a 6-foot senior guard at Sayre High, scored on 17 of 28 shots from three-point range to tie the boys' national high school record for treys, and finished with 59 points in a 119-36 win over Millersburg Military Institute.

ORLANDO, FLA.
Amy, a sophomore striker on the Bishop Moore High girls' soccer team, scored her 53rd goal in the Hornets' 3-0 Class AAA state title win over Melbourne High. With that goal she broke the state single-season girls' record by one.

MIA LABOVITZ
SAN DIEGO
Mia, a San Diego High senior, converted three of five field goal attempts from 35 or more yards for the boys' football team. As the striker on the girls' soccer team, she led the Cavers to the AA Central League title, with 23 goals.

GEORGE TAYLOR
NEWARK, DEL.
Taylor, a 58-year-old sales rep, won four events in the 55-59 age group at a Philadelphia masters track and field meet. He put the shot 31'6". high jumped 4'2", finished the 50-yard hurdles in 9.8 seconds and ran the 600 yards in 2:02.4.
