Chris, 13, won the Junior Boys (ages 8 to 13) National Waterski Championship. He is the first resident of Vermont to compete in a national water-skiing competition. He also won the junior boys' division of the Vermont Open.

Negaard, 46, beat Sandy McLachlin of Dresden, Ont., 25-15 to win the women's World Horseshoe Pitching Championship for the fifth time, in Spearfish, S.Dak. She had 14 wins and three losses, with 830 ringers out of 1,026 shoes.

Rob, 16, competing at 114.5 pounds, won gold medals in both Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling at the World Maccabiah Games. He pinned Richard Hari, 23, of Canada in the two event finals to win both competitions.

Maurice, a senior quarterback and safety at Bassett High, completed 10 of 14 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns, rushed for 121 yards and one TD and intercepted a pass in the Bengals' 39-22 victory over Martinsville High.
Dyroen, 18, placed first in the solo, duet, team and figure events at the Junior World Synchronized Swimming Championships, in Cali, Colombia. She also won a gold as a member of the U.S. team at the FINA World Cup, in Paris.
Eric, 7, a centerfielder for Maple Key of the Guelph Junior T-Ball League, in which each team gets four outs an inning, made an unassisted quadruple play in the game's final inning to preserve a 30-27 victory over Watson Brothers.
