Philadelphia beat San Francisco in six for the NBA crown. A.J. Foyt
won his third Indy, Proud Clarion the Derby. The Cards' Jim Bakken
kicked seven field goals, an NFL record, in a game against the
Steelers. John Newcombe and Billie Jean King won the men's and
women's titles at Wimbledon and at the U.S. Open.
