Nicole, now 11, set three girls' state 10-and-under swimming records, with clockings of 29.17 in the 50-yard butterfly, 1:06.35 in the 100 butterfly and 27.49 in the 50 freestyle. The last of those performances broke a 15-year-old mark.

Sean, 14, won the under-17 boys' èpèe title and his second consecutive under-15 boys' foil crown at the U.S. Fencing Association's Junior Olympics in St. Charles, Ill. He was also 14th in a field of 171 in the under-20 men's foil competition.

Johnson, a junior at Azusa Pacific, cleared six feet to win the high jump and set an NAIA indoor track and field meet women's record in Kansas City, Mo. She broke the mark of 5'11½", which was set in 1988 by Kelly Cox of Missouri Baptist.

Red, a 69-year-old retired life-insurance district manager, and Louise, 67, his wife (they are grandparents of four), each scored a hole in one on the same hole on the same day at the par-71 Carroll Lake Golf Club in McKenzie. Red used an eight-iron at the 140-yard 7th hole to get the second ace of his 28-year golfing career, and Louise, playing several holes behind her husband's foursome, used a seven-wood for the first hole in one in her four years of golf. Red finished with an 81, and Louise had a 101.

TODD KENDALL
SPENCER, W.VA.
Todd, a senior at Spencer High, became West Virginia's third four-time high school wrestling champion when he won the 130-pound division at the state meet. He finished his career with 107 consecutive wins and a record of 154-6.
