NATALIE SAURBER

Natalie, 16, scored 597 out of a possible 600 points to win her second consecutive young adult (age 15-17) freestyle title at the National Field Archery Association championships. She beat Kimberly Holland of Cambridge, Minn., by three points.

WALTER HUSBAND
FOXWORTH, Miss.
Walter, a senior shortstop at West Marion High, hit home runs in four consecutive at bats. He had a homer in his final at bat against Columbia High and in each of his first three turns against Magee High. He had only five home runs this season.

PARKERSBURG, W.VA.
Lori, 12, set two world age-group (15-and-under) powerlifting records at the state championships in Barbersville in the squat (187 pounds) and total lift (484). She also holds state age-group records in the bench press (99) and deadlift (209).

KEN SPARKS
CHAGRIN FALLS, OHIO
Sparks, 45, an exercise physiologist, set a pair of records in the 45-49 age group at the National Masters indoor track and field meet in Madison, Wis. He set a world mark in the 800 meters (1:57.81) and an American best in the 1,500 (4:04.80).

LEIGH CAPPELLO
MILLERSVILLE, MD.
Leigh, 15, scored a combined total of 72.3 to win the overall competition of the Maryland Level 10 gymnastics championships for girls ages 15-18. She also won individual titles in the floor exercise with a score of 9.3 and the vault with a 9.6.

BRENT NOON
BONSALL, CALIF.
Brent, a senior at Fall-brook High, established the second-best shot put ever by a high school athlete with a toss of 76'2" in a dual meet against Torrey Pines High. He also holds the national scholastic indoor record with a toss of 74'11".
