Jason Gannon
PORTLAND, ORE.
Jason, an eighth-grader at Alice Ott Middle School, led the Huskies to the Mount Hood Athletic League wrestling title by winning all 12 of his matches (11 by pin) this season. He was unbeaten as a seventh-grader, too.
Jaime Dorfner
MOUND, MINN.
Jaime, a freshman pitcher for the 14-7 Mound Westonka High Softball team, has lost two games over the last two years. As an eighth-grader on the jayvee in 1990, she was 7-0. This season she is 5-2 with a 0.745 ERA.
Jennifer Grego
BROCKPORT, N.Y.
Jennifer, a junior at Brockport Central, won the girls' one-mile race-walk at the U.S. scholastic indoor track meet, in 7:27.02. Jennifer, who is also state champ, took up the sport only four months before the nationals.
Jack Piercy
SYKESVILLE, MD.
Piercy, a sophomore left wing on the University of Maryland Baltimore County hockey team, scored three goals in 12 seconds during the third period of an 11-0 victory over Dickinson College of Carlisle, Pa.
Bill Lundstrom
ATLANTA
Bill, a senior at The Westminster Schools, won two state swim titles, in the 50-and 100-yard freestyles, and swam a leg for the Wildcats' state-record-setting 200-medley (1:38.15) and 200-freestyle (1:29.03) relay teams.
Heather Jameson
EAST LEBANON, MAINE
Heather, a junior at Noble High, led the Knights to their third consecutive Class A state girls' gymnastics championship by winning the all-around title. She came in first in the vault, the uneven bars and the floor exercise.
