David, 16, and Julie, 17, won, respectively, the boys' and girls' divisions (under 18 years old) of the PGA Junior Golf Championship, held at the PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach, Fla. David parred the second playoff hole to defeat Chip Spiron of Goldsboro, N.C., after both had 299 totals for the 72-hole event. Julie won her division with a 17-over-par 305, beating Jeong Min Park of Alameda, Calif., by three strokes.

LINCOLN, NEB.
Chris, 14, scored twice in a 5-4 OT victory over the Gladiator Warriors of Omaha to help his team, the Capitol Gold, to its third straight state youth soccer championship. The Gold finished the season with an 88-12-7 record.

Elizabeth Kratzig
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
Elizabeth, 17, won the junior (ages 15-19) sailing championship in the single-handed division at Mentor Harbor Yachting Club in Cleveland. In the 18-year history of the event, she is the first woman to win.

Anthony Hampton
ENGLEWOOD, N.J.
Anthony, 15, set a national high school freshman record in winning the 400 intermediate hurdles with a time of 54.7 seconds at the Bergen County (N.J.) Meet of Champions. The old record, set by Kip Dow in 1985, was 56.2.

Gloria Brattain
BURKE, VA.
Brattain, 57, an office manager, pitched 84 consecutive innings to lead the Oakton, Va., Golden Girls to both the Senior Olympics slo-pitch softball title and the National Senior Council of Softball title.
