McCoy, a 71-year-old grandmother of five, ran the second fastest marathon ever for an American woman over 70. She was clocked in 4:13:28 for the Grandma's Marathon from Two Harbors, Minn., to Duluth.

A.J., 12, a first baseman, hit seven home runs and had 15 RBIs in five games to lead the Helotes Little League All-Stars into the District 19 All-Star Tournament quarterfinals. He went 12 for 14 at the plate in those five games.

Brooke, 13, became the youngest open-division tennis champion in the history of the Montana State Open when, as an unseeded player, she defeated second-seeded Jodi Robinson, 19, of Hamilton 7-6, 6-2.

Billy, 17, won the expert-class championship of the International Jet Ski Boating Association for the second consecutive year by finishing first in nine of 25 events during the association's national tour.
