Corey Ihmels
WILLISTON, N.DAK.
Corey, 17, a senior at Williston High, won the 5,000-meter National Kinney Cross-Country Championship in 15:03.6, 15.1 seconds better than his closest rival. Earlier he won his third consecutive state Class A title.

SPRING, TEXAS
Simmons, a sophomore at the Air Force Academy, won the NCAA Division II tennis title 6-3, 7-6 over Chan Dixon of Valdosta (Ga.) State. She is the first woman in school history to win a national tennis championship.

Marc Oshima
MORRISTOWN, N.J.
Oshima, a recent graduate of Columbia, won first place in the NCAA fencing championships in the èpèe division, beating Jubba Beshin of Notre Dame 3-5, 5-2, 5-1. He was also named first team All-America.

Brad Hocker
ARCHIE, MO.
Brad, a 205-pound senior running back for Archie High, ran for 9,046 yards and 127 touchdowns in his varsity career. He is the nation's alltime leader in high school rushing TDs and ranks second in rushing yardage.

Marrisa Kimbrough
BLOOMINGTON, MINN.
Marrisa, 14, a freshman outside hitter for the Jefferson High girls' volleyball team, had 388 kills and led the Lady jaguars to a 25-2 record and a section title. She is her school's career leader in kills.

Rusty Davis
WATERTOWN, CONN.
Davis, 43, a physics teacher and girls' soccer coach at the Taft School, got his 200th career win and his fourth consecutive New England Prep title this season. He has guided the Big Red to a 37-game win streak.
