Sheldon, a senior wrestler at St. Mark's High, beat Chad Feichtel of Easton High in a 119-pound bout to win a state-record 113th career match. He is a three-time state champ and has won 120 of 123 matches in his four years.
Janet Kruse
BLAIR, NEB.
Kruse, a senior biology major and three-time All-America volleyball hitter at Nebraska, led the Huskers to a 27-5 record while keeping a 3.9 GPA. She also won her second GTE Academic All-America of the Year honor.
Daniel Kelly
GOLDEN VALLEY, MINN.
Daniel, 15, won three gold and two silver medals at the U.S. Association for Blind Athletes swimming championships. He finished first in the 100-and 200-meter backstrokes and the 200 individual medley.
Pat Mooney

NORTHFIELD, Mass.
Pat, 53, and his wife, Ginny, 51, the boys' and girls' cross-country coaches, respectively, at the Northfield Mount Hermon School, led their teams to New England Prep School championships. The Big Red boys won their sixth consecutive title and their 12th in the past 15 years. The Big Red girls have now won two in a row and nine of the past 15 crowns. The boys' team has been unbeaten since 1986, while the girls have lost only seven meets since 1980.
Ryan Gatchell
EPPING, N.H.
Ryan, a senior guard at Epping High, scored 56 points in a 79-64 win over Ipswich High and 47 in an 89-83 defeat of Moultonborough High. He is averaging 33.0 points for the Blue Devils, who are 9-2 on the season.
