Carrie Zarse
ROCKFORD, ILL.
Carrie, 17, a December graduate of Auburn High, won her third state diving title by beating Jenny Baker of Granite City 434.35-432.85. She also won the 16-18 age group Junior Olympic one-meter title in July.

Martin Roache
ORANGEBURG, S.C.
Roache, a senior at South Carolina State, was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Golfer of the Year and Black College All-America. His string of victories included the National Minority College Championships.

Molly Dietz
GREELEY, COLO.
Dietz, a senior middle hitter on the Allegheny College volleyball team, earned Division III All-America honors for the second straight year. She led the Gators to their fourth North Coast Athletic Conference title in a row.

Greg Simpson
LIMA, OHIO
Greg, a senior guard at Lima High, had 32 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in an 84-80 win over Hamilton High. The 1991 state player of the year is averaging 30.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists.

Meredith Bradley
NORRIDGEWOCK, MAINE
Meredith, a junior field hockey forward for the Skowhegan Area High Indians, scored in double overtime to beat South Portland 1-0 and win the Class A state title. She was also named the state player of the year.

Ed Cheff
LEWISTON, IDAHO
Cheff, the 48-year-old baseball coach at Lewis-Clark State College, was named NAIA Coach of the Year. His Warriors went 50-7 and won their fifth straight and seventh of the last eight NAIA baseball titles.
