Wills and Wright, senior lacrosse players at Johns Hopkins, each scored three goals and had two assists in a 15-14 victory over perennial power Syracuse. Wills, an attackman and Hopkins's leading scorer through last weekend, with 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists), also had five points in a 15-14 defeat of fifth-ranked Princeton. Wright, tied for first among the Blue Jays in goals (12), is a two-time All-America midfielder.
Patty Althoff
HAMDEN, CONN.
Althoff, a senior at Williams College, won the women's three-meter diving event at the New England Division III championships and also at the NCAAs, with 468.5 and 444.5 points, respectively.
Al Ogletree
MCALLEN, TEXAS
Ogletree, 62, the baseball coach at Texas-Pan American, guided the Broncs to a 4-0 defeat of Bellevue College for the 1,100th victory of his 36-year career. He is third among Division I coaches in wins.
La Keshia Frett
HAMPTON, VA.
La Keshia, a junior center at Phoebus High, scored 42 points and had 21 rebounds in a 78-42 win over Armstrong High. She later led the Phantoms to the Group AAA state title and was named Gatorade state player of the year.
Chris Bono
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA.
Chris, a senior wrestler at the Bolles School, completed his second consecutive unbeaten season—he has prevailed in 95 straight matches. He won the 140-pound state title in 1991 and '92 and the 130-pound title in '90.
