Corcorran, 40, won the world senior racquetball crown in the 35-39 age group for the second straight year by beating Dane Crisp of Carrollton, Texas, 9-15, 15-1, 15-4. He has also earned three U.S. senior titles.

Melissa, 12, swept the girls 11- to 12-year-old freestyle swimming events at the AAU Junior Olympics, winning the 50 meters (31.79), the 100 (1:10.86), the 200 (2:33.78) and the 400 (5:29.06).

Vandenberg, a junior forward on the University of San Francisco soccer team, scored on seven of his first eight shots of the season to lead the Dons to a 4-0 rout of UNC Greensboro and a 4-1 defeat of UNC Charlotte.

Tremayne, a senior tailback for Reynolds High, carried the ball 23 times for 320 yards and three touchdowns (of 23, 78 and 80 yards) in leading the Rockets to a 21-0 defeat of Weaverville North Buncombe High.

Kellee Booth
COTO DE CAZA, CALIF.
Booth, 18, shot a 54-hole total of 214, two under par, to win the PGA junior girls' championship by seven strokes over Eunice Choi of Laguna Hills, Calif. The win was Booth's seventh of the year, tying a national junior record.

MACON, GA.
Tyler, 72, owner of a dry cleaning business, had a 3-2 record and one save as a pitcher for the Braves in the 30-and-over Metro Atlanta Men's Baseball League. In his 32‚Öì innings pitched, he struck out 18 batters.
