Keith, a senior quarterback, and Leodes, a senior wide receiver, led Newbury Park High to a 12-0 record and a second consecutive league championship. Between them Keith and Leodes hold three state records and virtually every Ventura County passing and receiving record. Keith holds the state career passing-yardage mark (9,354) and the county single-season passing-yardage record (3,627). He is also the county's season and alltime leader in touchdown passes with 34 and 81, respectively. Leodes holds the state career records for receptions (263) and receiving yards (4,356). He also holds the county single-season marks for receiving yards with 1,567 and receptions with 95 and the county career TD receptions record with 44.

Pam Hixon
AMHERST, MASS.
Hixon, 42, who has been the held hockey coach at the University of Massachusetts for 16 years, is the winningest active Division I coach in her sport. With a 255-69-18 career record, she is only the second field hockey coach in the nation to reach 250 wins and the only one to lead her team to all 13 NCAA field hockey tournaments.

Gina Suh
NORTH OAKS, MINN.
Gina, a senior and the No. 1 player on the St. Paul Academy and Summit School tennis team, beat Laura Keith 6-0, 6-3 to win the state Class A championship and become the first player to win five consecutive Minnesota state singles titles. Gina, who finished her career with a 170-13 record, won her first state title as an eighth-grader.

Erin Carney
LA CROSSE, WIS.
Erin, a senior at Central High, shot a final-round two-under-par 69, a Riverside Golf Course record from the forward tees, to win the state girls' golf championship and lead the Red Raiders to their fourth straight team title. Her 36-hole total of 140 was 10 strokes better than the lowest score ever shot at the tournament.

Nora Shepherd
YORK, NEB.
Nora, a senior at York High, completed her second straight undefeated cross-country season by winning the state title for the second time. She covered the 4,000 meters in 14:49, the second-fastest time ever by a girl on the course. Nora, who finished her career with a 37-3 record, set a state mark with a time of 10:46 in the 3,200 meters in the spring.
